The Neurooncology Section is an organizational component of the Czech Society of Oncology. The general aim of the Neurooncology Section is to contribute to the development and dissemination of medical and biological sciences focused on neurooncology, to strive for their use in the care of patients with cancer of the nervous system and to participate in the increase of the professional knowledge of members.
Specific goals include the development of nationwide recommended practices for the treatment of patients with CNS tumors, facilitating interaction among experts with an interest in neuro-oncology from across the country, and possibly streamlining collaboration between “clinical” and “theoretical” departments involved in cutting-edge neuro-oncology research. The Neurooncology Section also provides a platform to facilitate easier coordination of multicentre studies in clinical and translational neuro-oncology research within the country.

Membership in individual sections of the ČOS is conditional on membership in the Society.
